Complete transformations

One plan for the whole yard — not five projects that don't talk to each other

The most expensive way to build a backyard is one disconnected project at a time: the deck that blocks the future patio, the grading done twice, three mobilization charges for three trades.

A complete transformation sequences everything — structures, stone, turf, planting, and lighting — as one design and one schedule, so the finished yard feels inevitable rather than assembled.

Popular combinations

Popular combinations

Deck + pergola + patio

The classic outdoor living suite: a composite deck for dining, a louvered pergola for shade, and an interlock patio that ties it to the yard.

Interlock + artificial grass + planting

The low-maintenance yard: stone where you walk and sit, turf that's always green, and layered planting for softness.

Front entrance + driveway + landscaping

The full curb-appeal package — everything a visitor sees before the front door opens.

Typical planning ranges

What projects like this tend to cost.

Broad examples

  • Complete projects are priced by component and then coordinated — for example, a composite deck plus aluminum pergola plus stone patio plus turf and planting can plan in the $55,000–$70,000 area for a typical suburban yard.
  • There is deliberately no blended per-square-foot rate for transformations: each element is estimated on its own, then sequenced.
  • Phasing across two seasons is common and often smart — the plan is designed so phase one never has to be undone for phase two.

Examples are for early planning only — not a quoted price. Pricing excludes demolition and removal of existing structures. Your range depends on the factors beside this list, and the project planner will give you a range for your specific space.

What moves the price

  • Which components are included and their individual sizes
  • Coordination between trades, shared access, and site logistics
  • Grading and drainage handled once, for the whole yard
  • Phasing strategy and seasonal timing
  • Design details where elements meet — the transitions make the project

How it works

From photo to finished project.

  1. 01Planning

Upload the whole yard and describe the dream — the planner prices each component and shows concept directions for the full space.

  2. 02Site review

One visit covers grading, drainage, access, structures, and utilities for every element at once.

  3. 03Proposal

A master plan with component pricing and a sequencing schedule — build it all, or phase it without rework.

  4. 04Installation

Trades arrive in the right order under one point of contact; you never referee between contractors.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Can we phase the project over two or three seasons?

Yes — that's one of the main reasons to master-plan first. We design so grading, footings, and sleeves for future wiring go in early, and later phases bolt on without tearing anything up.

Who manages the different trades?

We do. Decking, stone, turf, planting, electrical for lighting — one schedule and one point of contact, so sequencing problems are ours to solve, not yours.

Where should a transformation start?

Almost always with grading, drainage, and structures — the things under and behind everything else. Planting and lighting land last, which is also why they phase so well.

Is there a design fee?

The AI planner and preliminary ranges are free. Detailed master plans for large projects may carry a design component that's credited against construction — we're upfront about it in the proposal.

How long does a full backyard take?

Typical single-phase transformations run several weeks on site; phased projects follow the schedule we set together. Permits and material lead times drive the calendar more than the build itself.
